All of us live through a "fantasy reality". Some may call it a daydream, and others may deem it as a projection of our "ideal self". Whichever you call it, it is true that the power of the "fantasy reality" is strong and determines our every action, thought, and happiness. The truth about the truth is irrelevant here. In your mind, you are in control and nothing else matters.

The problem with the "fantasy reality" is that many of us have gotten so used to imagining it, that we don't know how to live it. For example, when you were young, all you wanted was to be a painter. You told this to your parents, you chanted it in your prayers, and you lived it in never-never land. But when you finally got to art class with the brush in hand and paint in jar, you didn't move. Instead, you stood there, idle—frozen in awe.

You never thought you would actually get to paint; it was just a fantasy. How on earth could you paint? That is our perception of our desires. We think about it everyday. We dream about it as we walk down the hill, while we wait in the Punch Out, and as we listen to a boring lecture.

It's what we believe in and crave…but that's it. It is our "fantasy reality," not our actuality. It makes me question life endeavors and why many celebrities attest, "The chase is better than the achievement." If that is true, is it wrong to have a continuous desire and a constant want to fulfill it?

This may just be what this life is all about: chasing. Think about it, if we didn't chase things, what would we be doing instead? One thing is for sure, until we decide to live out our fantasy, that is where we will stay—in a fantasy reality.
