Students participated in a costume contest for up to $75 worth of dining dollars on Halloween in the Cafe

Excitement was high as an abundance of freshman and a few upperclassmen filed into the café for Halloween fun. Students came dressed as cats, maids, sailors, and other various characters, while others were there purely for enjoyment.

The café had been transformed with spooky spider webs, an array of orange decor and large pumpkins that help put everyone in the Halloween spirit. DJ Big Will kept the energy in the café high as he played some of the most popular songs of today.

"I've never seen a Halloween party in a café before!" said freshman Kamaria Roberts. Students who participated in the costume contest had to walk down the runway and present their costumes. The finalists battled one another in a dance competition and performed by ‘beefing it up' and hitting the ‘south Dallas swag.'

In the end, Alexander Gibson who dressed as a stick won first place and received 75 dining dollars. The second place winner came dressed as a District native and was rewarded with 50 dining dollars. Coming in third place was the Mad Hatter , who won 25 dining dollars.
