For the first time in two years, Spotlight Network will launch its first official
show on Sept. 19 at 4p.m., on channel 4 of ResNet. Spotlight offers a variety of
campus news including politics, entertainment and coverage of important events.
With diligence and hard work this summer, president Jonquilyn Hill, a junior print
journalism major, and the executive board have completely revamped the
organization.

"We've made a lot of changes this year. Our job is to cover and broadcast all
news on campus to keep the students of Howard University informed, and we plan
to do that to the best of our abilities," Hill said. "We're putting more stories online
and on air. With our new original entertainment series ‘Yard Talk' and other
student-produced content, I really see Spotlight becoming the go-to for student
entertainment and news on campus." (DIFFERENT ATTRIBUTION!)

On August 23, when an earthquake struck the D.C., Maryland and Virginia
area, Spotlight was quick to cover the story. After capturing footage, they managed
to have the story edited and ready to air that same evening.

With 36 new members added to the organization, Spotlight plans to produce
and air a new show every Monday at 4 p.m. on channel 4 of ResNet. The show will
also be available to watch on their YouTube account, Spotlightnetwork4. To receive
updates on the show as well as campus information, follow Spotlight on Twitter
@SLNTV_4 and join the Facebook group SLN-TV: Spotlight Network Television.
