The 54th Grammy Awards aired today on February 12, 2012. Tonight's show was full of entertaining performances, starting with the opening act Bruno Mars. Chris Brown followed up with "Turn up the Music" and"Beautiful People". He also won best r&b album of the year for his fourth studio album "F.A.M.E." Rihanna also performed, "We Found Love" and her close friends and business partners Jay-Z and Kanye West took home a Grammy for best rap performance for the song "Otis".
Adele did an amazing performance singing "Rolling in the Deep" and took home awards for song of the year for "Rolling in the Deep" and best pop artist for "Someone like You". The Grammys made room for tributes to the beautiful talented people that shaped the music of today. Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt performed "A Sunday Kind of Love"as a moving tribute to Etta James. Jenifer Hudson sung "I will always love you" as a tribute to Whitney Houston. It was beautiful tribute, but the only tribute to Whitney Houston during the night. They also paid homage to Don Cornelius with a eclectic performance by Chris Brown, David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters and
Deadmau5.
Never the less Etta James, Don Cornelius, and Whitney Houston will forever be loved and never forgotten. The night finished off with a performance from the Nicki Minaj. Needless to say Nicki shocked the world, again! Adele took home her 5th Grammy of the night for Record of the Year. Finally, Diana Ross presented the Album of the Year to Adele making it her 6th Grammy. This was truly a night to remember the lost and celebrate the new that will carry out the vision of music that they created.
