7 Deadly Sins

Hi there! It's me, Jackie. In case you haven't already figured out from the last story, my sister, my five friends and I are all tragically flawed. Together, we characterize the ‘Seven Deadly Sins'. Audrey has the lust factor, Priscilla is obviously the proud one and following her of course is her second-best, envious Sidney. Then there's greedy, power hungry, gold-digging Mercedes, disgustingly gluttonous Gabrielle and back-biting, two- faced, wicked, vengeful Deongela. I am the icing on the top: the lazy sloth. Yes, we all have issues, but of the seven us I am the only one that gets along well with everyone. It might be because of my care-freeness or because I'm non-judgmental or even because I have the time to sit and listen to all their problems. There's a reason we don't all live together. Why? Because there's havoc when we all get together, but don't just take my word for it. Read for yourself…from the beginning.

It was freshman year and we were celebrating my 18th birthday. The seven of us were eating out at this new trendy restaurant downtown called, ‘Justa Pinch.'"

"Aw, thank you guys so much for coming out, I know you all are busy with your campaigning, culinary classes, studying, working, and just being fabulous!"

"Oh, Jackie we'll always be here for you. Nothing can come between us." Priscilla says.

I fake smile at her. "I'm not done."

"Sorry." She apologizes.

"What's this all about?" Mercedes asks. "I have to meet up with JD soon." She looks at her phone.

"I promise this won't take too long." I say.

"Okay." Mercedes put her phone away and picks up the menu.

I continue. "I understand there's some tension…"

"Sis, if this is about me hooking up with Stephan, I already apologized to Deongela." Audrey states.

"This isn't about you Rey. One of us has far worse problems." I look at Priscilla.

"Well, what are you looking at me for, Jackie?" Priscilla asks me.

"Are you going to tell them the truth about the mysteriously, quote unquote leaked video?"

Priscilla shrugs and nonchalantly asks, "What are you talking about?"

"You leaked the video?!" Deongela stands up and points her finger in Priscilla's face.

Priscilla, always one to rise to friendly competition stands up. "First of all, you need to get your skinny un-manicured finger out of my face. Second of all, yes! I leaked the video."

"Priscilla, why would you do such a thing?" Audrey asks.

"Why?! ‘Why?' you ask, because you don't have to share a room with her. She's been staying up with the light on working on this stupid campaign that she doesn't really even care about!"

"If she didn't care about it, why would she be staying up all night working on it?"

"Because her running mate holds the position in another organization that she wants!"

"What?! Deongela, you want Ashlee Barry's position? You don't even like her." Gabby chuckles. "She made that clear in the video."

"I mean, why would you make a video bashing the girl you want to be?" Sidney asks.

"I don't want to be her per se, I just want her position."

Priscilla laughs. "Guess you won't be getting that, will you?"

"No thanks to you."

Sidney plays devil's advocate. "I think Priscilla may have done you a favor, D. You don't like politics, really. If you won vice-president you'd have a major responsibility that you really wouldn't have been able to handle."

"Whatever! I won't even be able to get Ashley's position now, she hates me and I'm sure everyone else does too." Deongela puts on her jacket. "I have to go!"

Mercedes checks her phone for the time. "So do I. I'll leave with you."

Deongela and Mercedes leave the restaurant. "See what you did Jackie?" Priscilla says.

"Me?! You leaked the video and you set her up on the date with Terrell."
