As the Class of 2008 prepares to embark upon a crucial turning point in their lives, many wonder how they will keep the lines of communication open with their fellow alumni and the university. "Nowadays technology makes it easier to keep in touch with a mass group of friends without actually having to go through a lot of trouble," said William White, a senior fashion merchandising major.
The typical undergraduate who has come from grade school right into college has spent almost 20 years of their life as a student. After dealing with years of classes, instructors, exams, loss of sleep and stress, a rational decision for some graduates may be to take time off after graduation.
In the summer of 1974, sophomore, Lloyd Duggan had no idea that all of the time he was spending with freshman Jerri Patrick would someday result in a trip down the aisle. For the young couple, it seemed college was the perfect starting ground for a lasting relationship.
Abiola Oki loves well-dressed women so much that he and his brother Fela Oki have launched an online women's clothing boutique, Okistyles.com. "You would think its kind of awkward for heterosexual males to be launching a female online boutique," Abiola Oki said.
