Its that time of year again..summer is coming to an end, and in 2 weeks, on
September 23rd it will be official. However, Labor Day—marks the end of the
scorching hot season, those white linen pants, and the enjoyment of most public
swimming pools.
Don't spend your holiday weekend stationed in front of the television catching
up on the Lifetime Movie Network marathon—when the celebration is merely
a metro ride away. Today the city is full of free parties, concerts, cookout, and
specials— check out a few of the DC Labor Day Happenings:
Labor Day Concert at the U.S. Capitol
Get Classy with the National Symphony Orchestra at their annual Labor Day
concert.

Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival
September 5, 2011. The Kennedy Center hosts more than 25 local theater
companies in a series of free readings and open rehearsals of plays and
musicals. This event gives audiences a chance to see the new works being
prepared for Washington premieres in the 2011–2012 theater season.
Abbey Road on the River - Beatles Tribute Festival
September 5, 2011. Gaylord National Resort, National Harbor, MD. More than 50
bands from around the world and Beatles fans will come together to share peace,
love, and rock-n-roll.
Washington Nationals Grand Slam Weekend

Greenbelt Labor Day Festival
September 5, 2011. Greenbelt Community Center, 15 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt,
MD . Have a Fun Family Day at the Greenbelt Festival with carnival rides,
games, a petting zoo, art exhibits, athletic tournaments, the Miss Greenbelt
pageant and live entertainment. The carnival hours will be from Noon to 7 p.m.
