For the past week, The Hilltop has searched for the best burger shops D.C. has to offer. We began by asking Howard students where they like to go to get juicy, scrumptious burgers.

The three restaurants that stood out the most were Burger Joint, Z Burger and Gordon Biersch. We found that their prices, variety and taste were the best of the best. Read more about these restaurants, and by all means, partake!

Burger Joint

4827 Fairmont Ave.

Bethesda, MD 20814

Burger Joint is not your average burger place, offering lobster and tuna burgers, in addition to the beef standard. The juicy burgers are served on buttered buns, and the well-seasoned side of fries take the meal to the next level.

At Burger Joint, there is a plethora of options, from The Greek, which was featured on Food Network's, "Throwdown with Bobby Flay," containing ground leg of lamb, to the 9 Pounder, which was featured on The Travel Channel and Food Network. The 9 Pounder actually weighs 15.4 pounds!

Z Burger

4321 Wisconsin Ave., NW

Washington, D.C. 20016

The burgers at Z Burger are amazing with an endless selection of toppings. The bacon cheeseburger is simple, yet wonderful. The pickles and bacon, combined with melted cheese and sautéed onions makes for a filling meal, and is less than five dollars.

Z Burger also has about 75 flavors of milkshakes and malts to choose from, and the seasoned fries and onion rings are something to talk about.

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant

900 F St., NW

Washington, D.C. 20004

There are so many options at Gordon Biersch, which is not just a burger joint, but also offers fresh seafood and traditional favorites such as chicken parmesan, and mac ‘n' cheese. Whatever you are craving, there is an entree that will surely fit your satisfaction. Oh, and the garlic fries are to die for.

The burgers at Gordon Biersch can be hard to find amid the variety of options on the menu, but they are arguably the best choice. A great burger to try is the Marzen Barbecue Burger, which contains smoked bacon and their signature Marzen barbecue sauce. All of Gordon Biersch steak burgers are 10 oz.
